Cathy & Troy | June 21, 2013

26 Jul

Cathy 1(Blog)Fun and casual were the two words this bride used to describe her vision of the perfect wedding. Cathy4(Blog)The couple, who live in Kure Beach, opted for a 7pm ceremony followed by a party at their home. This wedding was truly a family affair. Cathy’s son walked her down the aisle and her daughter served as maid of honor while the couple’s pooch sat beside the groom as “best dog.” Cathy5(Blog) After sharing their vows the bride and groom invited their kids up to join them in a family sand ceremony. The shy, but hilariously funny groom wore his signature hat throughout the ceremony, but decided to remove it just long enough to properly solute his new bride.Cathy3(Blog) Location: Fort Fisher Beach

Keryn & Matt | June 20, 2013

19 Jul

Keryn 4(Blog)Keryn 1(Blog)Keryn’s father was in no hurry to give this bride away. After escorting his daughter down the aisle, he whispered something to her, which made her grin from ear to ear. Then he gave her a kiss on the cheek Keryn3(Blog)and a dad sized hug before finally handing her off to Matt. Other sweet moments included Uncle John playing here comes the bride on the bagpipes and Aunt Kate reciting lines about love from “The Velveteen Rabbit”. The ceremony was followed by Keryn 2(Blog)a reception at the family beach house, which also served as the location for Keryn’s grandparents’ 50th wedding anniversary a few years prior.

Tammy & Burton | June 14, 2013

14 Jul

Tammy1(Blog)Look at them go! Tammy 4(Blog) Towards the end of the ceremony Tammy and Burton opened the lid of a small white basket and two white doves took off in flight. Together they flew out over the ocean and then back across the beach before heading home. The doves, which mate for life and always travel as a pair, symbolize the couple and their journey together. Tammy2(Blog)Not only are they beautiful to watch they are also very well behaved. According to their handler, the doves actually do fly back home(over 100 miles away) and usually make it there before he does.

Christine & Christopher | June 9, 2013

3 Jul

Christine 2(Blog)Christine 4(Blog)Christine and Christopher waited a long time to make it official; so when the big day finally arrived everyone was full of excitement. The couple’s children, Julianna and Jon Jon, served as attendants and I have to say, they were some of the most well behaved Christine 1(Blog)kids I’ve had the pleasure to work with. Little Jon Jon even bowed his head during the prayer. In lieu of a traditional flower bouquet, the bride carried a shell bouquet accented with pearl and crystal beads, which Julianna held proudly during the ceremony. Christine 3(Blog)
In memory of his mother, Christopher placed his mom’s signature multi-color Birkenstocks in an empty chair. It was sweet a way to pay tribute to a fun and free spirited woman. Location: Access #43, Wrightsville Beach
