Although I enjoy getting to know brides from all over the U.S., there is something extra special about the local girls, especially ones who love Access #43 as much as I do. Local brides understand our weatherman always predicts a 30% chance of rain on Saturdays and that it rarely rains enough to ruin their ceremony. They usually introduce me to at least one great new wedding vendor and they are typically some of the most relaxed brides we encounter on wedding day.
What was so special about this wedding (aside from the local bride) was the incorporation of so many important people into the couple’s big day. Ensuring every family member had a special seat and that all their parents, grandparents, stepparents, and step-grandparents were included in the processional was a must for this family oriented couple. I loved the Dave’s father served as best man and his stepfather was one of the groomsmen. I also loved that Heather had her dad give her away and her stepfather perform the ceremony. Yes, a wedding is technically a ceremony celebrating the joining of two people, but really it’s much more than that. This couple took to heart the crucial role friends and family play in supporting their union. For them, celebrating these special people was an integral part of the process.
