Pint sized flower girls are super cute, but somewhat unpredictable.  We have seen flower girls and ring bearers of all ages ranging from 6 months to 10 years.  Although many consider the ideal flower girl/ring bearer to be 5 to 8 years of age we know many brides want to include adorable nieces and nephews outside this window.  Asking younger children to be in your wedding is perfectly acceptable, as long as you understand their limitations and set realistic expectations.  A little freedom to roam in exchange for silence during the ceremony may be a reasonable trade off.  It also makes for a sweet photo.

For this laid back couple, including the bride’s two 2-year old nieces was a must.  The processional went perfect, however during the reading one niece decided to break from her mom for a closer look at the bride and groom.  Wisely her parents let her do her thing and eventually she returned to mom to watch the first kiss from the sideline.  I’m pretty sure this bride and groom wouldn’t have had it any other way.
